GSL ELIZABETH-ACC A/C & REF UNIT SYS HEALTH INSPECTION-ZHOUSHAN COSCO SHIPYARD

During the drydocking period of MV GSL ELIZABETH at Zhoushan COSCO Shipyard from August to September 2026, Sea Legend has once again demonstrated our technical capability in marine air conditioner and refrigeration system with the successful completion of a comprehensive project.

Job Scope:

1. ACCOMMODATION AC SYS HEALTH INSPECTION SERVICE

2. TROUBLE SHOOTING SERVICE FOR THE ALARM OF NO.2 COMPRESSOR.

3. REPLACEMENT SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENT SERVICE OF EXPANSION VALVE AND PROTECTION MODULE AND RETURN GAS

4. PROVISION REFRIGERATION HEALTH INSPECTION SERVICE

5. RECOVERY OF REFRIGERANT AND MAKE VACUUM AND RUNNING TEST FOR REF.SYSTEM

It is critical to keep habitable living conditions onboard by maintaining A/C and refrigeration systems. Long-term operation during navigation brings risks , such as refrigerant leakage, pipeline blockage, fouling of heat exchanger and component degradation. In addition, any improper operation may lead to system contamination or compressor damage. Thus, regular health inspection and repair service can detect hidden defects at an early stage.

Technicians conducted repair job in confined machinery spaces with complex piping layouts. Strict safety protocols were followed for refrigerant recycle and nitrogen handling. Nitrogen purging effectively removed moisture, oil sludge and foreign debris inside refrigeration pipelines, preventing ice blockage and corrosion, ensuring stable cooling performance and avoiding unexpected breakdowns. Vacuum testing, leak detection and functional commissioning were proceeded after purging and recharging.

The project was executed with a strong focus on safety, quality, and minimal downtime. All works was confirmed and accepted by the vessel’s Chief Engineer upon completion. In the first half of this year, we provided reefer services for two vessels ( M/V GSL CHLOE & M/V GSLMAMITSA) under this shipowner's fleet on multiple cases，which earned high recognition and positive feedback from the client.
